Turkey for breakfast?

Yesterday I was watching CNN.  Of course they were discussing all of the hot holidays toys and best places to get them, when all of a sudden an uproar occurs.  The are interviewing people on the streets about the stores opening on Thanksgiving Day.  Did I just hear you right?  Retailers are seriously going to start Black Friday on Thursday?  Are we allowed to do this in todays world?  Are we allowed to just up and change a traditional day just to capitalize on all of the crazy people in the world who "must get that deal"?  Many of the people being interviewed were showing concern for the workers, and saying that it wasn't fair.  But, wouldn't it make more sense to just NOT support this?  I don't understand why people are willing to give up a tradition such as Thanksgiving to wait in line for a tradition such as Black Friday.  Do these people see that they are allowing retailers to hijack their day of turkey and pumpkin pie?  Im guessing that the next logical step in this is to simply move Thanksgiving to a Wednesday, and simply turn Thursday into Black Thursday.  WHY ARE WE DOING THIS PEOPLE?  Why don't we simply not show up.  Stay home with family.  Refuse to eat your turkey at breakfast or as a Friday reheat.  Stay with friends, watch a parade, enjoy a football game, but please....do not go wait in line to save yourself 20 bucks.  SAVE THANKSGIVING!
